Carb experts:
I rebuilt the front HS4 carb today and noticed that the lever link assembly
(372-865) is bent differently on this one compared to the one in the SU
rebuild video. Does anyone know of a website picture that would have a
closeup comparison of this assembly on both carbs?
In lieu of this, the front carb I just did has this lever link assembly
attaching to the jet on the same side as the cam (with no spacer), but on
the rear carb it goes under the jet and attaches to the opposite side of the
jet with a spacer between it and the phillips screw head. Is this correct?
The front lever link is not bent almost at a right angle like the rear one
is; it is only slanted somewhat and looks as if it has been purposefully
bent. The jet sticks some when the cam is turned with this setup. I don't
have a correct setup to compare any of the above with.
