What I would suggest is:

Use the cellophane (or plastic wrap) when replacing the components.  This will
help to prevent the mster from running dry.  Keep an eye on it while working.
DO NOT LET THE MASTER RUN DRY!

After the parts are repaced, remove the plastic, and open the bleeders.  Let
it gravity bleed for a while (keep the mster full).  When the fluid is clear,
close the bleeders and then bleed normally.  This should go fast.

The reason you don't let the master run dry is twofold.
1.  If the master goes dry, you have to bleed it.  It is very messy and
somewhat challenging in place.  Most shops bench bleed the master (especially
if it is a replacement).
2.  If the master runs dry, there is quite a bit of air in the system, and it
will take a long time to bleed properly.   Sometimes an airbubble gets trapped
and makes bleeding very interesting.

Take your time and you should be fine.
