Where can I get some "good" windshield wiper blades for my '71 B? I bought a
set of spares a few years ago; and I now that I need them, I find they are
rotted! I don't remember who I bought them from, but it was one of the two big
catalog dealers. I wonder if they were made from cr*ppy rubber, or maybe just
sat on a shelf for 30 years? After pitching these in the garbage can, I took a
look at my 6 year old Oldsmobile's blades. These are original have lived out
doors in the rain and sun the whole 6 years. They have no cracks or
discoloration, and are just as flexible as the day they were new. Why can't we
have good rubber reproduction parts? (Please don't get me started on hoses and
boots!) How much cost difference can there be between a few ounces of good
rubber and cr*ppy rubber? A nickle, a dime? Why can't the repro manufactures
use the same materials as the OEMs?

If the "British Motorcar Trade Association" is for real, please take note!

End of Rant............

Oh yes, for those who are using a single position "hay-bag" wiper switch
replacement: I think the color codes for the fast and slow wires are reversed
on http://www.mgcars.org.uk/electrical/body_wire_colors.html . At least on my
car, the slow wire is Red/Light Green and the fast wire is Blue/Light Green. I
don't recommend using the fast speed, as it beats the cr*ppy rubber blades to
death.
