The Unisyn should indicate how much vacuum you are pulling on each carb.
Once you loosen the throttle linkage between the two carbs, you want to
adjust the THROTTLE on each carb until the Unisyn indicates and equal
vacuum between the two. You'll never get them synchronized be adjusting
the mixture. That comes after the carbs are roughly synchronized.
If your idle increases when the Unisyn is applied, you have a major
vacuum leak somewhere.
