Ian et al,

The problem with most translators is they don't understand the idiom of
auto mechanics. I've tweaked the translation a bit, the result of which
is below.

"Place the end of a thin hose in the proximity of the
carburetor bridges, hold the end of the hose by the ear and listen for
equally strong hissing from both carburetors.  Adjust the set screws (5)
to equalize idling speed of each carburetor.
A further possibility to aid in the synchronization of the carburetors
is to bend two bicycle wheel spoke in such a way that they form a 90
degree angle
And are inserted into the damper oil reservoirs. The spokes fixed with a
thin hose in the diameter of the dampers, and point to one another. Now
the
difference of the lift between carburetor pistons can be observed and
stopped with each.
