As an Alfa onwer, enthusiast and active member of the
Alfa club, let me just say that I will believe it when
I see it. I HIGHLY doubt Alfa is coming back to the
states any time soon, and I'll eat my hat if they are
here in 2007. They keep promising, then dlaying, then
promising, then delaying, but insiders at Alfa Romeo
point to a serious shortage of cash (GM's investment
going primarily to updating model lines and new
vehicles) and fears about how financially devastating
failure would be. Plus, considering Alfa has a
history almost unrivaled in the automotive world, they
don't seem to care about it as much as other car
makers. Unlike Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, the factory
has pretty much completely abandoned the US Alfa
enthusiast. I just don't see their return happening
any time soon.
