I don't ever buy grade 2, nor in any way have I suggested that anyone else
should. Every bolt I buy is grade 5 and that's all that is stocked in fine
thread in MY local hardware store. OK there are some grade 8s as well. When
I refer to an appropriate hardness, I mean things for connecting rod bolts,
studs in the engine, axle and suspension nuts and bolts, etc. I hope you
don't mean that you would ever consider grade 5 for those applications.
Because the statement:
The ONLY "Grade" EVER used in the LBCs discussed on/in this List IS
Grade 5.
P E R I O D!!
is just as irresponsible for those critical applications such as those I
mentioned. For those, I prefer to buy from a known supplier who is willing
to stock the correct material for the application.
