In that case (the clutch pedal was released at the time I presume) you have
hydraulic back-pressure, and you should be able to find out from where as
described in my mail that crossed in the ether.  Should be cheaper and easier
to resolve then a clutch problem, though :o)

  When it was extended and the pedal was hard the other day, I tried to
manually push the SS piston back in, and it wouldn't move at all.
