I built my own plywood blast cabinet without using TIP's plans - its only a
box after all. I actually sized it to use an old wire mesh patio table top
as the inside "floor". All I bought from TIP was the window with frame,
nozzle with pickup tube and the gloves. Everything else was plywood or odds
and ends.
I used 3/8 ply - 1/2 seems overkill.
Worked great, wish I'd never sold it!
The plywood behind the "target" area does get blasted away quite a bit but I
just hung an extra piece inside to take the blast.
One major disadvantage of any blaster is the dust that WILL escape and cover
everything in the shop. Also if you use glass beads you learn to sweep the
floor FREQUENTLY - otherwise its like ice.
