Guys, give this some serious consideration. I don't want a blaster even in
the same BUILDING with my shop . . . outside in a shed would be good. You
don't want glass bead dust (or any abrasive 'cept nut shells) in your parts
washer, on your tools, in your power tools or anywhere even near where you
assemble engines or gearboxes. On the same subject, after seeing Dave
Bean's article and photos, I'll NEVER bead blast ANY "oil wetted" component
of an engine, especially aluminum. The thought is that the embedded bead
particles cannot be scrubbed off the surface but will be dislodged by sonic
and heat cycle effects to get into the oil and eat bearings . . . Dave has
the photos to scare you.
Your experience may vary but I don't chance it.
