You might want to check the code on that.  Two different grounds can
cause an induced current in the grounding conductor.  That means the
bare wire can be live.  Not very live, but ISTR that it's not
permitted.

I could be wrong, though.  Heaven knows it's happened before.  But I'd
check on it.
