There are some things you have to do regularly.

Your best finding your self a copy of the Original Workshop Manual.  

Don't add any aditives to the petrol or oil, it doesn't need them to the
petrol.  Mabe for un-leaded petrol, but I think that's debaitable. 
Additives in the oil just ruin you engin (speaking from bitter
experience). 

To tune you car remove the belt driven fan, and put an electric one in
it's place.  Then an extractor mainifold, twin SU's if you havent
already, and K&N air filters.  In that order...

The other thing, get your self a grease gun that can take 90W gear oil. 
Oil your front trunions regularly with that.  If the DPO put grease in
remove and clean out, inspect for the damage the grease causes.
