We made our headers from the tubing available throught JC Whitney.  We mig 
welded most and gas welded some others.  My friend is an excellent gas 
welder and has no problem welding thin metal. As for the mig welds the are 
holding up without a problem.  If you are using stainless then a tig welder 
should be used.
