It all depends on the distributor you have. There are four listed for 1975-79,
three of which are for the USA. The 1976 year is supposed to have electronic
distributor TKC 2755 (Lucas part # 41646). This is a retard unit which has the
following specs:
3" mercury vacuum - no advance
5" " " - 1.5 deg. at disty, 3.0 deg. at crankshaft
7" " " - 3.0 , 6.0
11" " " - 6.0 , 12.0
15" " " - 6.0 , 12.0
(use crankshaft numbers for timing)
There is also mechanical advance in this disty:
800 rpm - no advance
1500 rpm - 5.0 to 8.6 deg.
1700 rpm - 6.0 to 10.0
3000 rpm - 10.4 to 14.0
3500 rpm - 12.0 to 16.0
If you have a different distributor, let me know.
