Hi Richard. Sorry, I must have missed your reply.
This is interesting, though, because mine is a '77 - right in the middle
of yours and Chris'. And my inhibitor switch is on the gear lever
extension, but at the front of it, no where near the actual gear stick.
My reverse light switch is close to where the gear stick is, on the left
hand side. Strange....
I guess the best thing to do, if you're not sure (and assuming all the
wires are missing or not working, because otherwise you can follow the
wires) is to get a simple ohm-meter and check which switch closes when
you're in which gear. But there may be differences out there......
