David,

I know my bugeye isn't a 90 point car but it has some things about it that
I'm fairly proud of. The carbs and almost everything else under the bonnet
is correct ( I think ) including the original horn. I've never seen
another original horn. The drive line is original. The dash is correct
(including steering wheel, horn button.) except for the water/oil gauge. I
have the original but need to have a new cap tube installed. I was really
happy the other day when I found a NOS heater knob. Once installed all my
dash knobs will be bakelight (not repro plastic) I also found a NOS
hardura boot liner and really good repro stowage straps for the hood.

On the downside, I know that I'll lose big points for carpeting instead of
mats. I don't have a front bumper. I used new (American) bolts and radial
tyres. The anodizing on my windscreen frame is scratched up........

Part of the problem is that I'm just not absolutely certain what is correct
and what is not. I bought the car 26 years ago as a basket case and there
are no unmollested original cars around here for me to look at. A
concourse event would help me figure out some of that stuff.

Herb

If they judged mine on a real concours basis, "falls" would be the
operative
word. <G>
