Actually this raises an interesting point.

After completing the restoration on my Mk II, I brought it to the CT DMV for its
required inspection. The first thing they said when inspecting the chassis tag
was that it was illegal and needed to be riveted. I feared a bureaucratic go
round, but the inspector relented when I adamantly insisted that they were not
riveted at the factory.

I have never heard of another owner having a problem in CT, but I would fear 
that
another inspector who might choose to be a  PITA could give someone a hard time.

As far as a home address goes, since I don't exist, I cannot live anywhere. :-)
