Pick up a set of plain old regular 7" round halogen headlights at any
auto parts store. $8 ea. is a good deal, $12 ea. is pushing the upper
end. The specialty catologs will tell you they are specifically made for
LBCs, they don't tell you they also fit Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, etc.
and they probably want $20 each.

Your generator should keep em lit with no problems. But if you drive for
3 or 4 hours with wipers, heater, radio, and halogens on, you may be
pushing the limits of the generator to keep the battery charged.
Should you find yourself in the dark like California, just turn
everything off and let the car fast idle for 15 minutes to recharge the
battery.
An alternator will handle halogens all night long.
