Some 1275s came with sleeves, All the sleeves I have seen came in the
12CC blocks (circa 1967 or the "early blocks")
Pitted lifters happen, usually when an engine sits the pits are rust
pits from condensation inside the block. The smooth lifters are propably
where the cam was in contact with those lifters while sitting.
If you are doing a 5 speed, there may not be room for the extra pulley
needed for the Judsen.
The 5 speed move the engine forward to the point where you want to have
the fan belt on BEFORE you install the engine. It's that close.
Oh you can get a new belt on with the engine in place but you need a
hammer and dull screw driver to mash it past the stock pulley.
