All this talk of a 'windbreaker' has made me get off my butt and take a few
pictures of my windbreaker. I hadn't done this because my first effort
resulted in one that needed adjustment (read cutting) and in the process I
cracked the plexi. I have made another and used a router (thanks Dave for
the tip) and cut a new piece of plexiglass and fitted it. Using the router
on the plexi was like cutting butter and only required some fine sanding to
get a smooth edge ready to gloss using a propane torch. My design aim was
for a windblocker that could be used in conjunction with my tonneau and
hood. I can use both without removing the windblocker. It's a
semi-permenant installation, so there are no windblocker storage problems,
it just stays in place! I can now cruise at 70 mph in interstate traffic
and not worry about my cap blowing off. Sorry Frank I don't have as much
hair as you do so I have to 'protect' the top of my head! I realize that
this is a specfic installation (rollbar) but it might give others an idea or
two. Someone else on the list had a design that used an extra tonneau cover
bar as the basis for a windblocker (sorry I can't give credit as I lost this
info during a recent computer crash) and maybe they will speak up.
