Cap's,
A vented cap eliminates the entire effect of attempting to recycle the fuel
vapors. Ever wonder why the first thing that they do when you come in for an
emissions test (at least here in Illinois) is to check how well your gas cap
seals? It is a SYSTEM; break any piece of it and it is dead. The air pump is
a separate system. Most any time you are inserting a smogged 1275 into a
Bugeye or other Spridget without the entire system, you will be better off
venting to the slip-stream than trying to implement one part of the
crankcase venting system without having all of the pieces in place.
