Ah yes, I remember the K Jet system on my '79 Rabbit. The car got to
running poorly. The manual says to check the injector spray pattern by
rigging a switch to the fuse block then placing the injector in a glass jar
to inspect the spray pattern. So, I did that for awhile and put things back
together. When I tried to start the car, I found it was hydrolocked because
the other 3 injectors were spraying too. So, I took the plugs out,
disconnected the coil and cranked her over expecting the cylinders to blow
the extra gas out. Well they did, but somewhere there was a spark too.
There was a GREAT BIG fireball!!! Did I mention the car was in the garage?
Did I mention my wife was in the garage too? Fortunately, there wasn't much
gasoline involved, the main door was open and the car was facing out. No
damage to the car or the garage, but it took awhile to calm the wife down.
Just proves that angels watch over fools.
