Thanks everyone. I looked at the motor mounts last night when I
installed the radiator to check that there weren't any missing nuts or
bolts but I didn't try jacking up the engine. I'll check that and the
water pump tomorrow after work.
How much clearance should there be between the fan and the radiator? Its
pretty tight in this car. When I replaced the radiator in my old Midget
I don't remember it being quite so tight. Unfortunately I took the
radiator out of the other car to use in this one. That was the first
radiator to get destroyed. $400 in trashed radiators plus two busted
fans and a dent in my truck to fix is really starting to hurt my wallet.
