While not original I also like the look of the bugeye de-seemed. To my eye it 
helps emphasis the car's curved body work.

I have de-seamed a couple Bugeyes so far. Both front and back.

Hers is the red bugeye
I ground off the raised seams, spot weld it every 2 inches and go back 
and weld in between the welds so it is welded every inch.
I fill in the gap with lead but bondo will work, I just didn't want any 
water creeping in the seam so I opted for lead.
Since my daughters car was made form 2 bugeye rear tubs welded together, 
I sort of had to de-seam it and the bonnet was pretty bad so now it 
matches the rear tub.
On my car, the Speedwell nose never had seams so last year I got rid of 
the rear seams not the back matches the front.
If I had a nice original car, I would not de seam it.
But I do like the look personally.
