Yes, very true. But you can still feel these Rice Rockets two blocks away
too, it's just their dam stereo (130db minimum) pounding out some 28hz bass
wallop as the car shakes and rattles as it thunders by....at 25 mph. can't go
faster due to the heavy drag of turning three 100 amp alternators to drive all
of the stereo junk. Stereo will drain the twin full size batteries in under a
minute if the engine is not at 4,000 rpm !

In years gone by, we could feel some of our cars too. My neighbors 57 Chev
with a really BIG 396 RAT motor at 690 HP, or the really impressive 426 Hemi
Challenger that a friend of mine had. had the engine pro built and was supposed
to put somewhere around 750 hp (above our state limit at the time). This
engine was HUGE It was almost 500ci, with a 671 Blower on top with Hilborn Fuel
Injection. When we drove this monster up to the Exhaust shop to complete the 3"
tubing from the headers on back. So when we fired up this open header blown
beast, The U.S. Geological Survey Recorded this seismic event....

Christ, we have them (Rice-Rockets) in rural Southern Maryland now. Didn't know
or care what they were, but I pegged them as stupid right off. I grew up on
American iron... you didn't have to see them to know they were fast... the
ground just shook under your feet and it caused you to turn and look. Good
example was the time I HEARD a 1968 Shelby GT 500 KR convertible... two blocks
away. That Carroll did things right!!

Best regards, Kirk
