Jay-  I've seen cars where the rear quarter was replace and installed a
bit too far forward.  I beleive the door's hinges are cast and wouldn't
be good candidates for bending.  If you only need a little additional
clearance, 1/16 to 1/8 inch, the front mounting block for the hinge on
the car's body can be pursuaded to move forward with a sledge.  Use a 2
X 4 to hit against and don't go to far.  Kind of reminds me of the
ledgend of the factory shoehorn back on the mainland.  But let us not
bring praise to that old folk lorn.  ;-)
