Several of you have objected to my posting the Get Smart photo to the Tiger
intranets web site, with comments such as "What is this? Members only?",
and " A site requiring registration and cookies is not in the spirit of a
free mailing list. Esp when it requires a referal to even register...."
To the objectors: I'm sorry that the Tiger intranets site is not to your
liking. Without realizing that I would irritate anyone, I simply used it
for its intended purpose. The site was set up some ago by Tim Ronak
specifically to allow list members who do not have their own web sites to
post photos, spread sheets, diagrams, etc. to other interested listers. It
is a free sight, and after registration, requires only a log-on. Tim even
made access easy for first-time visitors who simply enter the password
"Sunbeam." You can set Windows or other cookie software (such as Gator) to
remember your log-in name and password. However, if you object to cookies
on your computer, that's another issue. Without them, I would think your
web browsing would be very challenging.
I am never surprised when postings to this list sometimes get a little off
key and/or a little testy. And quite frankly, there are several
contributors whose names automatically trigger my delete key. But I was
totally unprepared for the crap which followed my posting of the Get Smart
photo simply for your enjoyment. I should have known better, I
guess. Well now I do.
