30-weight oil in a T-5!!!! Never. It was meant to use ATF, and preferably
synthetic. I've got Redline in mine, but most of the racers prefer Syncro(I
think that's what its called) anyways, it's a GM synthetic product you can
get from your Chevy dealer. And you should change the fluid annually.
I think your problem might stem from the 30-weight residue gumming up the
tranny.
The best aftermarket T-5 shifter is Pro-5.0, closely followed by Steeda.
