I finally got the project done and had several requests for plans, etc. I
have copied templates for the Fresh Air Box including measurements and a
"how to" article. Because the templates were 'life sized' they needed to be
copied on an Oversized copier. Kinko's really sticks it to you when you do
that and it was very expensive as they charge by the square foot. (where
else was I going to do it??)
Regardless, I got shipping tubes and checked on postage costs and for $35.00
I can send you the template. It is not an engineers drawing rather it is an
exact duplicate of the cardboard pattern I used to make mine. I have a LAT
79 reproduction hood built by Kent at aerodyne in San Diego and standard
height motor mounts with a Performer RPM manifold as well as a Holley 4779
version DP carburetor. The kit permitted a half inch taller air filter and
much cooler air than from under the hood. My profit on this is only about
$10.00 for my effort and intellectual contribution after copy, mailing tube,
printing and postage as I really want to help those who wish to do this for
them selves. I could also include the tubing for the breather and the drain
in thick wall aluminum tube as I purchased 8ft lengths for the 1 inch that I
needed for a $mall amount more.
