Dave,
My engine ran at 190-220 (In hot weather 90+) in 75 degree it ran at 180-200
without ever boiling over with a stock rad, Derale 15" Fan and Mobil One
oil. I thought as the engine 'loosened' up it would drop temp. NOPE!!! Now I
have a cold motor piston slapper at 2000 miles ... could be many reasons
like the initial build was too large on piston to wall clearance. No smoke
and excellent power still but I am going to pull it apart for preventative
reasons. I believe the excessive temp may have led to some premature piston
scuffing. I have now acquired one of Dale A's aluminum rads and the
Edelbrock water pump which will go on. It is a 3 pass design and I have
total confidence that it will completely eliminate any cooling issues.
If you want my 2 cents go get a decent Rad 210-220 is TOO HOT!

Best Regards,
