Theo I couldn't agree with you more. Not only should the registration form
have the disclaimer, but at the entrance to the event as well as announcing
it in case anyone blind is attending. I'm hoping that there is an official
bonified loophole to be found. George's speaking in Mammoth is Tiger
history. To be kept under wraps for nilly willy reasons is a shame. But,
things are getting so touchy these days.
Watched TV lately? Even the car license plates of the people who are
deliberately part of the show are blurred out. People even remotely
recognizable in the background..., blur them too. I hear that it cost the
average episode about $10,000 for a rather new position in the video field,
that of the "Blurrist!"
This whole project was originally implimented by Buck just to have a
record. It sat for about a year then Buck allowed me the tapes to edit them.
Both he and CAT were going to allow me to sell them in part to compensate
for the approx. 50 hours I had invested, the duplication cost and as a
financial asistance to George. When the liability issue came up I
relinquished back any right to be compensated or authority to sell.
At this point I have only two desires. One is that this information be
made available to the Tiger community and two that George who is retired and
about 80 years old recieve just compensation for his story which in my mind
would be the full amount above the duplication cost of providing the
tape/DVD. Maybe the collective effort of those associated with the field of
Law on this list can find that loophole (or show qualified reasoning not to
be concern about liability). If that happens I will get back to Buck and see
what can be done. Perhaps the tapes could be considered the exclusive
property of George and the Tiger clubs (with their liability insurance) can
become the distributors. Just a thought, but a possible angle.
Tom
