Tony,
Paul Paretti has a EFI setup on his Tiger. It would be an insult to call
it "homemade," but it is something he built as a very nice, one off piece. I
don't remember all the perticulars, but it has a manifold similar to an air
gap (if it isn't one already). If I'm not mistaken the fuel rails run under
the manifold runners??? I believe he had bosses welded in for the injectors.
Others on the list probably know more.
There is also a guy named Dave from the Oxnard,CA area that has a
standard for EFI Ford setup (the one that looks like 8 sausages arched
between the valve covers). His car is an Alpine but extensively modified. In
his case he had to cut out the heater box area and the manifold barely fits.
The car was on the road about 3 years ago, but since he has taken it off to
complete the job. I saw him at Woodley Park (2004) and he seemed to think it
might be back on the road in a year (or so). Sorry I can't tell you more.
I've seen both cars and talked to the owners, but things beyond my pocket
book I generally don't store in my brain (well..... these days a lot of
things I don't store for that matter).
