The Ford crate engines made with the Sportsman block are the following:
302/360HP (E303 cam)
302/390HP (Z303 cam)
347/450HP (Z303 cam)
Based on Ford's literature, these three crate engines from Ford go through a
rigorous break-in, test and adjustment period. The other crate engines
(302/270HP, 302/310HP, 302/315HP, 302/340HP, 302/345HP, etc.) are just
assembled
by Ford (or their subcontractor who might be Roush anyway) and sent off for
sale.
While I'm not sure if the "Sportsman" engines have a warranty, they would be
the only engines I would consider from purchasing from Ford.
