I agree!  My stock car, original fan (even!) (though the engine HAS been out) 
has the back edge of the fan about perfectly aligned with the back edge of the 
shroud.
The british did NOT know the rocket science in 1964  ;-)..  that's why they 
only gave us 1/2 the shroud.
