Joe,
 Okay, if you can pretty much rule out a problem in the coil, try 
by-passing the switch by going from positive side of battery to the coil.
You can start the car with remote starter switch or by crossing the pos. 
and starter wires on solenoid. If the car run properly in this mode, then 
the problem is likely a bad switch.
 I hate chasing electrical problems. Seems there are more possibilities 
than solutions. Just stay with it and don't curse Lucas until you locate 
the problem.
