I have lubed up the internals real well with the "grease" (more like a
thick oil) and the operation of the cylinder appears very smooth and
strong. Haven't filled it up and attached it to the brake system yet,
and that will be the determining factor of course...the seals seem to be
made of very good quality material...there was absolutely no distortion
of damage visible after placing them in the proper locations, yet they
fit nice and tightly. Also, I can't determine the manufacturer of the
seals, but they are made in Australia. I may try to contact the store
and see what they can tell me about the supplier. From what I had left
over of the old seals (not a whole lot, this master cylinder had been
sitting dry for several years) these seem to be a much firmer material;
of course the old ones were really soft to begin with. Once I get the
M.C. on the car and give it a whirl, I'll let ya know how it
works...This was my first rebuild, so who knows! Maybe I will attempt
to do the clutch M.C. next--I've heard it was even easier to do.
