Just to add fuel to the fire, I would like to offer the quote below from
Street Rodder magazine.

A fellow named Dee Howard built a "hot rodded" 1933 Pierce Arrow for the
purpose of running over 200 MPH on the Bonneville salt flats, driven by A.J.
Foyt. While testing in Texas, in 100 degree heat, they had a cooling problem.
I qoute their cure for the problem from the magazine:

"For the run, a new radiator was fabricated, and new restrictors have been
placed in the coolant return path to raise the internal block coolant
pressure to roughly 40 psi (the better to prevent the formation of steam
bubbles)."

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I found that information to be
interesting, especially in light of this thread, and Mike's previous comments
about nucleate boiling.
