I had a similar problem like this with another make car and the culprit
was a trunk light that would not go off when the trunk lid was closed,
because of a bad switch. Since the light was on inside the trunk one
couldn't see the problem. Just a sugestion but it has happened to me
more than once. I didn't see the beginning of this thread so I'm not
sure if the car in question would have a trunk (boot) light.
