*do not do this* with the VOM on resistance scale, or a large current flow
may nuke your VOM- your multimeter may have a current scale and it's
probably protected against being toasted, but the scale may be limited to
<100 mA, probably too low to be useful on a car, however a short large
enough to drain battery in a few days will likely have enough current to
light a standard 12 volt test lamp connected between the disconnected
positive cable end and the battery post
