TR3 SU Help

Trying to help a friend that bought a '59 TR3 in 1960...He has taken the
carbs apart, and when trying to reassemble them, he doesn't
know/forgotten which way the 'banjo' goes.  

He says that there are two different sides, one is flat, the other has a
washer on it and in slightly concave.

He needs to know which side goes towards the bowl, the flat side or the
concave.
