Jonathan,

You'll probably be told that you shouldn't have separated the calipers.
I did the same thing about two years ago, then discovered that there
are two problems:

1) Some seal kits don't include the o-ring that fits between the two halfs,
so make sure your kit does.  
2) There aren't any documented torque specs for the bolts.  TRF advised
that the large bolts be torqued to 75 ft-lbs, the small to 45 ft lbs.  Do
them in
several increments, work from inside to outside.

You may consider buying the stainless steel replacement pistons, and
I'd encourage you to shop at TRF, since the information originated there.
