Trying to convert an old crystal phoenix to low power. Have the book on the
later synthesized Phoenix which shows the 2 -5 watt version with the final
transistor being bypassed. Problem is, the old crystal phoenix uses a
different layout in the final. Anybody got any ideas on bypassing the
finals on the older crystal Phoenix radios?
Looks like the output circuit of the final consists of two 39pf caps to
ground, with an 82pf cap and smaller inductor than normal in series in the
collector output, followed with a 12pf to ground. The final transistor
input circuit is similar to the later model Phoenix.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
