I'm $12k into what started as a $5k budget for the restoration of a '66 4A. Heres how it plays so far (in rough numbers). Body/paint $5k Frame Stripping/coating/suspension etc. $2k Engine $2k (Thats Top to bottom, parts & labor. Hardened valves and seats, Rebuilt carbs ...) Wire Wheels $1k Misc "parts" = $2k I bet its another $8 before its done. That adds up to $20k consistant with the previous message. Maybe the resulting car is worth $10 but I wouldnt sell it for $30. Thats not why we do it. Is it? |
