Many of them still contain Methylene Chloride (not the same thing as 
alcohol !) which I don't think would be very good for the diaphragm and 
plastic bits.  Check the label. I believe 'Gumout' brand is one that does 
not contain it.

MC is also commonly used as paint remover ...
