I have tried both a Mityvac and a set of Speed Bleeders without success.
They both allowed too much air into the system around the threads. The
Mityvac is a great tool for other jobs.
My home built pressure bleeder works beautifully. Drill a hole and thread
an air coupler into an extra cap for the master cylinder (you can just
order another cap or steal one from a parts car). Turn your air regulator
down to 10psi or so. Crack open the bleed screw until clean airless fluid
comes out. Be careful not to let the master cylinder run dry- stop
periodically and check it. Also be careful when unhooking the air line- you
don't want to spray DOT3 all over the place. You may need to use RTV and/or
teflon tape around the air fitting to make sure it seals.
