Your local NAPA store may have an acceptable belt, NAPA 25-24379
(Thanks, FT !) I checked two local stores last year, one had it, the
other took 2 days. The neat thing about this belt is that it is thinner
and more flexible than the original belt, so it goes on easier.

It's cogged, unlike the original, so if originality is your goal, you
can just keep one in the spare tire well, as a roadside spare. I
definitely recommend carrying a spares package including all belts and
hoses, wrapped in plastic to avoid oxidation as much as possible.

Fan belts, especially the thick ones used by TR2-4, get old and hard
even without being used. Then, when you start to use them, the rubber
body breaks into chunks and the fabric eventually fails from only being
flexed at the cracks. My guess is that it was just due ...

However, while it's off, check the pulley alignment (they should all be
in the same plane, the belt should not have to make a sideways jog as it
comes off the pulley), and the lower front mount on your generator.
Also spin the generator and fan pump pulleys, to be sure one isn't
seized, and inspect the pulleys for cracks, missing chunks, etc.
