It might be worth noting that MSD offers both an add-on knock sensor for any
engine, P/N 8964, and a 'from the cockpit' timing control that is usable
with points (as well as most electronic ignitions), P/N 8782.

I'm not sure they're on the web site

but they're in the printed catalog, available free from the web site.
