Dear Ivan,
My car was bought partially restored but I have found no serious corrosion
in the 3 years spent finishing the job. However, some of the roads in
Derbyshire are in a dreadful condition (particularly the twisty ones that
are fun to drive!) even by UK standards, so I decided not to subject the
body to the punishment and keep the stresses in the chassis. After deciding
upon the chassis-based option, a friend reported problems with a 2 bolt kit.
He reckons that the brackets 'nod' under load and in his opinion caused
cracking in the chassis of his '6'. A fellow TR Register member told me
about the TR Bitz product. This 3 bolt option is reputedly 'stiffer' and
spreads the load more effectively.
I hope this explains how I arrived at my decision.
Regards,
Ian Viles (Derbyshire)

PS - I have no direct experience of the body-mounted kit.
