Hello All,
I have a 74 TR6 with the emission stuff pulled off. For the past year, I've
had a small diameter rubber hose (running from the bottom of my front carb to
the distributor) serving as my vacuum line.
I was in the local parts store the other day and decided to buy the standard
hard plastic vacuum pipe to replace the rubber hose. The guy came back with a
clear pipe instead of the normal black pipe. Since it was only three foot or
so, he gave it to me for free.
So, I get home install the pipe between the bottom of the front card and the
distributor. I start the engine, and it runs well. I cut the engine off and I
can see bubbles of gas in the clear vacuum pipe edging back towards the
distributor. I restart the car and I can see the gas bubbles dancing in the
line, but being sucked back towards the carb. There is not a lot, but I don't
think gas should be partying in that line.
Now to my question...on the 74 emission systems there was a small vertical fuel
trap installed. The DPO had removed mine, but I'm guessing that this trap
prevents the problem that I'm seeing, yes?
Moss is showing this sucker at $35 a pop. Does anyone have a good spare that
they would like to part with at a reasonable price?
