Had a similar problem with a '64 Ford 170.......just took a sheet of 24 
guage........cut a 2-3" half circle out of one edge,,,,,stuck it up in 
there......backed off a bit........used a marking pen to draw around the 
edge........where the bumps were,  I guessed  the centers of the 
holes......punched them a bit bigger....kept adusting........primed and 
painted it semi-flat black.......and ....."Vois La!"......time, but not a 
whole lot of money.
